Programs The agency offers two residential programs, Arrabon House, a group home, and Lanthier Place, a co-op. Arrabon House, the core residential program, provides 24-hour support in a structured and home-like environment. The residents are between 13 and 18 and attend school, are employed or enrolled in a training program while at Arrabon. The house is located at 29 Wilson Park Road in the Parkdale area of Toronto. Through counseling, life skills mentoring and socialization, our dedicated team of professionals provides support and encourages personal growth for our young women. Arrabon uses a client-focused wellness model to develop individual plans of care. The young women develop in areas such as self-esteem, emotional growth, mental well-being and stability, through supportive interpersonal relationships with staff members and one another. Arrabon links with the service community for psychological assessment or more intensive therapy. Arrabon’s MSW Consultant also works directly with the youth as required. Arrabon’s sister program, Lanthier Place, provides co-op housing to women 16 to 24 as a transitional, independence based living environment. Three cooperative apartments with three bedrooms each allow residents the opportunity to prepare for fully independent living, with the support of an on-site mentor. Lanthier Place is located at 239 and 241 Vaughan Road. Aftercare and Counselling
Arrabon partners with other community agencies to form Dufferin Mall Youth Services. The agency contributes by providing staff to DMYS counseling and on-site programs. |
